Deliciously Stuffed Sukkot Food Recipes

Delicious Sukkot Recipes to Try This Holiday Season.

Sukkot  (Feast of Booths or Tabernacles) is one of the three biblically based Jewish pilgrimage holidays known as the shalosh regalim.

It is an agricultural festival originally considered a thanksgiving for the fruit harvest. Sukkot are temporary dwellings; they are hut-like structures that the Jews lived in during the 40 years of travel through the wilderness after the exodus from Egypt.

A sukkah is representative of the fragility of all existence, and therefore Sukkot is a time to appreciate the shelter of our homes and our bodies (1).

Although there are no explicit rules as to what foods must be eaten during Sukkot, stuffed foods are extremely common. During Sukkot, you welcome guests (both living and historical heroes) into the sukkah, thus “stuffing” them into a wrapper of sorts. Since Sukkot is a harvest festival, eating stuffed foods also symbolizes an overwhelming bounty.

We have curated a list of delicious, mouthwatering Sukkot food recipes that are based around the vegetables and foods that are plentiful in the early fall. Scroll down to see all the recipes. Tell us which ones you plan on making in the comments below.
